@billpeduto And I know it was rescinded September. Mixed messages about whether it would last into 2012.

Story: The Embargo club design concept had given way to the owner's interest in developing a more modern-style club atmosphere. The project consultant and I were tasked with developing a different idea that would attract the modern and upscale clientele that the owner wanted to serve.
The project consultant decided on the name 'Ludic', derived from a Greek word meaning 'play'. From this input, I was to develop a design around the name.
Goal: Create an upscale and modern brand based upon the name 'Ludic' and emphasizing the concept of play.
Solution: The modern feel of the club seemed to lend itself to a styling that used brushed metallics. Given the tech-type vibe, a button reminiscent of a CD or DVD player, along with the universal symbol for 'play' (a triangle pointing to the right) was created, and the word 'Ludic' was incorporated into the button. Green was added as an accent color after much deliberation (blue was the runner-up). Finally, several versions of the logo were developed to allow for two-color printing (for uniforms and other applications) and one-color printing (for black-and-white flyers and embossing [see gallery on right]). The logo was then adapted to several neon signs placed throughout and outside of the club. Multiple pieces of collateral, as well as a web site, were compiled to give the club a total brand that it could incorporate going-forward.
