@billpeduto And I know it was rescinded September. Mixed messages about whether it would last into 2012.

Story: The local inline hockey organizations worked diligently to bring the USARS USA National Championships to Pittsburgh, helping to establish the region as a premier inline hockey market. With that, an identity package needed to be created for patches, programs and other uses to help drive home the message that Pittsburgh is incredibly important to the growth of the sport worldwide.
Goal: Develop a logo (and subsequent materials) that emphasized Pittsburgh while also keeping some focus on the event itself.
Solution: Several different logos that emphasized Pittsburgh-related themes (three rivers, Point State Park, Duquesne Incline) were developed initially to get an idea of the feel that the local organizations wanted to portray. After several iterations, a more stylized version, using imagery of the 'Golden Triangle' and the confluence of three rivers was chosen. Once the identity was developed, a program that relied heavily on Pittsburgh imagery was developed, as well as signage and a referree patch, which completed the final package.
